Our 470-acre farm has been farmed by the Harris family for over 170 years. We moved to Southfleet in 1848 having previously farmed in Bedfordshire. The farm has seen many changes over the years, having evolved from a very mixed traditional farm growing hops, apples, vegetables and housing beef cattle, to today being a mainly arable and vegetable farm.
Cropping on the farm includes 250 acres wheat, 75 acres barley, 50 acres oilseed rape, 40 acres oats, 40 acres linseed, 5 acres vegetables and 10 acres woodland.
Our farm is currently run by brothers John and Mark who are 6th generation Harris’s. Together they have continued to grow the business not just in terms of farming but also offering a wide variety of homegrown and locally sourced seasonal produce within our fully stocked Farm Shop.
We take great satisfaction in growing, harvesting and selling our own produce to customers. The benefit of homegrown produce is its freshness and having been grown without added water or irrigation the flavour is second to none.
