Our 500 acre farm has been farmed by the Harris family for over 150 years. We moved to Southfleet in 1848 having previously farmed in Bedfordshire. The farm has seen many changes having evolved from a very mixed traditional farm growing hops, apples, vegetables and housing Beef cattle.

Cropping on the farm includes: 200 acres wheat, 60 acres oilseed rape, 15 acres potatoes, 10 acres vegetables, 40 acres spring barley, 60 acres beans, 50 acres grass and 10 acres wood land.

The farm is now run by John & Mark Harris who are the 6th generation of Harris’s and they have taken the business into its current regime supporting a fully stocked Farm Shop with fresh Home Grown and Local Produce all the year.

It gives us great satisfaction to be able to grow, harvest and sell our own produce to our customers, the beauty of growing your own produce is that its FRESH and having been grown without added water or irrigation the flavour is second to none.

In 2001 we joined the countryside stewardship scheme which encourages farmers to create and preserve natural habitats. We have laid hedges, planted new ones, created 50 acres of grass leys and numerous grass margins and beetle banks. We have subsequently moved into the highest level scheme to maintain this important environmental feature.
